Mauro Giuliani: Andante Sostenuto

I bought this arrangement from Per-Olov's online store some time ago now, and I've only just got it ready to record. It's a little slow, but not too much! I'm not very confident with arpeggiated chords using the fingers, so tend to use the thumb.

RSS Graffiti Test Post

This blog may be dormant but it's not moribund. Fernando Sor "Introduction to Guitar" Op 60 No 19

This is a bedroom recording, made for the sake of getting something done for a change! Very nice to be back, thank you.

I have a technical difficulty with my thumbs: they are double-jointed at the tips (they bend back by 90 degrees from normal) and this creates instability of the left hand position. The tip joint collapses under pressure and this causes the fingers to do the right things in the wrong place. It also means I have to watch the left hand like a hawk to catch the collapse - it doesn't always work out though.

Any constructive advice on how to overcome this will be gratefully received :o)
